Created in 1994, dance company Le Guetteur become established in Hauts de France Region with the creation of its first piece Le Grand Vivant at the Théâtre Jean Legendre in Compiègne. Since then the company has been creating many pieces in artistic residency in different Cities and Cultural Centers : Saint Michel Abbey in Thiérache, Maison des Arts in Laon, Château-Thierry and Soissons.

The company creations are developed by the choreograph Luc Petton who since his first pieces initiates a singular career path on French choreographic stage, getting noticed with If and Oscar, touring in France and abroad. The following creations, Polemos, Sur le Fil de minuit, Sans abord réel confirm the public enthousiam and professionnals art circle interest that will be enhanced in 2004 with his project for birds and dancers.

In 2005, Luc Petton creates La Confidence des oiseaux ( Bird’s confidence) playing with more than 30 birds free on stage with dancers. This was a true success during at the Festival d’Avignon and at Theatre national de Chaillot in 2008. The adventure continues with Swan, choreographic creation for swans and dancers, revisiting Leda’s and Swan lake myth, presented in June 2012 at Theatre national de Chaillot. Each performance conquers always a larger public. Luc Petton pursue his quadriptych with the creation of Light Bird, for dancers and japanese cranes. The premiere took place one more time at Theatre national de Chaillot in May 2015.

Paying attention to his repertoire, Luc Petton decide in 2013 to transform his piece Oscar which is a hommage to Bauhaus art, in a quartet version. Lighter and adapted to any stage, this creation allows also a reflexion on dance history by proposing workshops and meetings as mediations with the public which is an important characteristic of the company.

From 2009 to 2012 the company develops many awareness action toward the public, any kind of public, as a democratic access to contemporary Art form. A commitment we found although in the project « Hospital in Culture » for elderly people and disabled children.

The company participates in the department of Aisne to the DEMOS project (Orchestral and Musical Education Plan at social vocation) managed by the Paris Philharmonie. The dancers of the company guide the dance workshops of this cultural democratization project for children coming from suburbs and countryside. They benefits from an access to classical music by the instrumental practice in orchestra, 200 children for more than 100 hours of workshop.

In 2014, an extraordinary Art residence took place in the zoological park of Amiens with dancers and Japanese cranes at the same time with the Amiens’ Maison de la Culture.

In 2017 a new project appear about « the poetic of Fright » with birds of pray, a wolf a vulture and dancers and circus artist : «Ainsi la Nuit » This piece is still on tour

At the same time the company started another project totally different ; DREAMS which is an attempt to realize short choreography on the concept of short one-shot movie. That could be played in any location in or outside theater, museum, church, square…
